April 15, 2023 -- SAVE THE DATE !!!
The 2023 Lily Lake Lollygag Trail Run 6k and 12k will be held April 15 with a 10 a.m. start time.
The course will remain more or less the same - as many of you noted last year, it was a bit longer than 5k - not sure it is quite 6k… but we're gonna call it 6.
We made the move to the 15th after consultation with other race directors and seeing the spring racing calendar fill up… our plan was always to be a fun, early-season kick off event…
We’ve also always strived to keep the race as affordable as possible – this year the recommended entry fee stays at $25 (and gets you a teeshirt and entry in the draw prizes). New this year we are going to implement a pay-what-you-can policy – when you register, you’ll have options for paying more, if you’re in that fortunate position, or less.
Like the last two years, any surplus funds will go to the Van Tassel Lake Trails Association to support their fantastic volunteer work on these beautiful trails.
We had talked about adding a 20k run this year, but, with the move to April 15 and potentially colder weather, we decided to limit the course time for both the runners and our volunteers.
Walkers are, as always, welcome to register and participate in the 5k.
The only big change this year, is we have taken the Youth 2k race out of the April 15 date – and are planning a separate event to line up with the youth running programs at the Digby area schools – we haven’t got the date yet, but the idea is for it to provide another running opportunity after the school program winds up… #staytuned
Put April 15th in your calendar and watch for registration to go live on RaceRoster sometime next week!

Lollygag Course Description
All races start and finish at the red flag on the main “Lake Road” just south of the main gate.
5k-ish race
The 5k-ish race starts at the red flag and heads south on Lake Road (gravel service road).
